Arcane of a Dream

I dreamt a dream so vidid that I awoke in a scare.

There were violins and cheese its.

Laughs and kisses.

Tasting your mouth while you were painted on me.

I heard a voice and felt a touch, calming but exhilarating.

Yet, I awoke in panic

Not because of what was in it

No, because of what was not in reality.

I felt for the warmth with nothing to be found.

My bitter veins run cold

I dreamt of a smile.

A craving.

A longing.

A desire.

A dream telling a story to be heard.

A reality singing a song left undone

Writings scribbled of dances frozen in time

Sipping memories in the dark

of a reality that never was.

*inspired while listening to a song by Sting called "What could have been" for World Poetry Day.
